Secret Proposal Photography in Taiwan
One little question. A memory you’ll tell for the rest of your lives.
You’re probably thinking about a hundred things already. Will the surprise work? What if it rains? Where should you stand? And, of course, will they say yes? You shouldn’t have to worry about the photographer too. That’s my job — and after photographing more than 40 surprise proposals in Taiwan, I know how to make it feel much easier.
I’ll help you find the right spot, plan a believable arrival, check the light and timing, coordinate quietly and capture the genuine reaction without turning the moment into a performance. Afterwards, we can slow down and enjoy relaxed portraits together. No complicated instructions, no extra pressure — just your story as it happens.
Not just the question. Everything you felt.
The nervous smile before it happens, the surprise on their face, the hug you don’t want to end. These aren’t photographs we can recreate later. My priority is to capture them naturally, while you stay completely in the moment.
Real people, real proposals, and no second takes.
I’ll take care of everything around it.
A successful secret proposal isn’t about luck. It’s about knowing the place, preparing quietly, and making the day feel effortless for the two people who matter most.
We create a plan that feels natural
Tell me your story, the location you’re considering, and how you’d like the surprise to happen. I’ll help with a believable little game or reason to stop in the perfect spot, the best light, arrival timing and a backup option.
I get there first
When possible, I arrive early to inspect the location, check the weather and wind, look for unexpected crowds, and coordinate with a venue or a trusted contact. We’ll use discreet updates so you know when everything is ready.
You relax and enjoy the moment.
I’ll photograph the surprise discreetly, then give you a moment to take it all in. When you’re ready, we can stroll somewhere nearby for relaxed couple portraits. I’ll offer gentle guidance if you need it, but never make it feel stiff or staged.
Tell me. We’ll make a plan.
Send me your date, where you’ll be in Taiwan and what you’re imagining. I’ll tell you what works, what might be tricky and how to make it memorable.
A wooden pier. A lifetime of memories. One unforgettable question.
On a December afternoon at Sun Moon Lake, we quietly hung printed photographs from their relationship along a wooden pier and prepared a bouquet of roses. The film follows the surprise, a heartfelt speech, the big question, their joyful answer and family wishes — all surrounded by the changing blue of the lake.
Some moments are worth hearing again, too. This film keeps the surprise, the words, the laughter and the warm wishes from loved ones — then finishes with quiet lakeside portraits as the light softens.
Custom flowers, printed photographs, personal decorations and venue coordination are available by arrangement.
And then, a little time just for the two of you.
The proposal may take only a few seconds. The happy feeling lasts much longer. We’ll use the time afterwards for relaxed portraits in the surrounding scenery — you don’t need to know how to pose. I’ll take care of that.
Want to see more love stories?
I’ve captured many more surprises and happy couples than can fit on one page. If you’re curious about a specific location, style or type of proposal, message me. I’ll happily share more photographs so you can get a real feel for my work before booking.
Where should you propose in Taiwan?
Sun Moon Lake is one of my most-requested places for a surprise proposal, while Taipei is a favorite for city celebrations. But the best place is the one that feels right for you. Tell me what you’re dreaming of — I’ll look at the light, season, weather, crowds, privacy and practical timing so the setting works as beautifully as it looks.

Photos show each place’s atmosphere; not every location portrait is from a surprise proposal. Other destinations are welcome too — we can discuss what suits your route and your story.

From one backpack and a camera to four plane tickets
I fell in love with Taiwan. Twice.
I was born in Poland and travelled through more than 40 countries, living in different parts of Europe and Asia. I arrived in Taiwan with a backpack and a camera. Somewhere along the way, I fell in love with this beautiful island — and then with a Taiwanese woman who became my wife.
Now we have two children. Visiting family in Europe means buying four plane tickets instead of one. Love is wonderful. Airfares? Slightly less wonderful.
Maybe that’s why I still get excited about every proposal. I’ve photographed more than 40 of them, and I know how much the smallest details matter. I want you to feel relaxed, enjoy the surprise and remember the happiness — not the logistics.
You bring the idea. I’ll help with the rest.
Tell me your date, your travel plans and whether you’d prefer something private, playful or spectacular. I’ll help choose a realistic time and place, and we’ll make a backup plan together.
Frequently asked questions
It’s normal to have questions before such an important day. If anything isn’t covered below, message me — I’m happy to help you plan it.
How do we keep the proposal a secret?
We plan a natural arrival story in advance, choose a discreet camera position and coordinate timing with you or a trusted contact. If useful, I can send live updates. The surprise comes first; once the question is answered, we can take relaxed portraits together.
What if it rains, gets windy or the spot is crowded?
We look at timing and weather beforehand, and I check the location early whenever practical. I will suggest a realistic backup, but safety and venue rules always come first. You can focus on your partner instead of the camera logistics.
Can you help choose a romantic location?
Absolutely. Tell me your travel dates, the type of scenery you like, how private you want the moment to be and any accessibility needs. I will look at light, season, crowds, travel time and what is realistic for your plans. I can suggest easier alternatives when needed.
Can you arrange flowers, printed photos or decorations?
Yes. We can help coordinate a bouquet, printed photographs, a thoughtful setup, venue preparation and related details. Custom items, venue charges and any extra crew are quoted separately.
Can you also film the proposal?
Yes. We offer proposal videography and personal travel films as optional services. Tell me the type of film you would love to keep, and I will propose an appropriate setup and price.
Do you speak English and Chinese?
Yes. I communicate in English and Chinese, which also helps when we need to coordinate discreetly with local venues or suppliers.
When will we get the photographs?
Your edited photographs are usually delivered within one week through a private cloud download link, in full resolution. Good things take a little time, and I want every image to receive the attention it deserves.
Can I get a few photographs on the same day?
Of course. If you want one, two or three images for an engagement announcement or social media, let me know before the session. I can usually share a small preview that day, without rushing the careful editing of your full gallery.
How do payments work?
I normally request a 30% booking deposit, with the remaining 70% due under our agreed delivery terms. Wise, bank transfer and Revolut are available; PayPal is possible with higher processing fees. We can agree on the easiest option for you.
Where in Taiwan do you work?
I photograph proposals across Taiwan, from city rooftops and lantern-lit streets to quiet mountain viewpoints, lakeside piers and the coast. Popular choices include Taipei, Jiufen, Sun Moon Lake, Alishan, Kaohsiung and Kenting. Tell me where your trip takes you — I will help plan a beautiful, practical location. Travel expenses may apply outside major cities.
Can you show me more of your previous work?
Of course. If you would like more examples of proposals and couple photography before booking, message me and I can share additional work for you to review.
You bring the ring. I’ll help make the moment wonderful.
Tell me your date, where you’ll be in Taiwan and what you’ve been imagining — even if it’s only half an idea. I’ll help with the place, timing, discreet coordination and a backup plan, so you can concentrate on the person you love.
Not sure I’m the right photographer yet? That’s fine too. I’ve photographed many more happy couples than I can show here. Ask for more proposal examples, and I’ll gladly share relevant photos for you to look through.
